Vincent Darlage
Vincent Darlage is finished
After the disaster that was "Wicked" (the book, not the movie; the movie is excellent), I wanted something I knew I would enjoy and this was indeed enjoyable. Nice little tale of survival and vengeance.

Finished "Duffy's Man," which was a fantastic story! How to fight when one isn't a gunfighter. All around a great story.

Finished "The Romance of Piute Bill" which was enjoyable, and "Hattan's Castle," which was likewise enjoyable. Neither story was great, as they featured fairly invincible protagonists, but the drama was told well, and the vengeance served was fun to see unfold.

Finished "Merrano of the Dry Country," which I really enjoyed. It stars a Mexican hero who battles prejudice and stupidity.

Finished "Trail to Squaw Spring" which was a story about a man who doesn't like bullies. It was interesting because the protagonist wasn't the stereotypical cowboy hero - he wasn't all that good with a gun and not particularly brave or interested in helping others.

This is the book I laid to rest with my father. I wanted to read one of his favorite books, so I ordered one from Amazon. I read "The STrong Shall Live," which was a good tale of survival and revenge, and "One Night Stand," a thoughtful comedy about an actor and a hired killer. Both were good.
