Today, I learned that in the 1980s on The Joshua Tree tour, U2 was helping the campaign to make MLK Day a national holiday. Many in Arizona didn't like it. So much so that before their concert in Phoenix, Bono received death threats warning him if he sung Pride (In Name of Love), that he would not make it to the end of it.

Just finished Part 1, which is the beginning all the way up to the end of Rattle and Hum. Fascinating stories and so great to know your heroes are still just normal people.

Bono is a great writer. Each chapter is episodic, taking me through facets of the journey.

I've looked forward to reading this for awhile. Each chapter is named after a U2 song and describes an episode of Bono's life.

I've just finished the very poignant chapter entitled "Iris (Hold Me Close)".
