“The Horror from the Stars” is the second story. If it were not for the horrible spelling and grammar errors throughout the story, this story would be AWESOME. The ending was satisfying. There were sacrifices made, weird sorceries, savage battles, worthy enemies, and horrible monsters. Worthy to be in any collection – if, and only if, the spelling and grammar errors are corrected.

Bohun goes to town, and is forced out of it. That’s the sum of this story. In between, we get a bunch of combat because the author wanted to write fight scenes. None of the fights advance the plot. All of them require the antagonists to behave stupidly.

“Intrigue in Aviene” is the fourth story. Bohun goes to town, and is forced out of it. That’s the sum of this story. In between, we get a bunch of combat because the author wanted to write fight scenes. None of the fights advance the plot. All of them require the antagonists to behave stupidly. There was no discernable "intrigue."

“By Darkness Enthroned” is the third story. Bohun isn’t really awesome in this one. He shows up, is given the keys to the kingdom, uses them without a problem, and wraps everything up way too easily. The whole siren storyline could have been handled better, and the fearsome sword of Ungg was a big nothing. The evil lord gets depressed when he’s handed all the awesome stuff he asked for. Not a great story.

“A Stranger from the Dark” is the first story. The writing itself in this story was fine, in terms of description and exciting scenes, but some of the plot left me a little nonplussed. I didn’t understand the Lady Elissa’s change in character, from thankful to angry just because Bohun wanted to rest. I don’t even know what she really wanted out of her betrayal of Bohun.
