This is written so unbelievably well. Most of the time, the dramatic push and pull of emotionally unavailable or commitment-phobe characters drives me up the wall. Most of the time, it reads as stupid and I can’t relate to it at all. This is not the case here. It’s maddening and heartbreaking because Eva Simmons has written them in a way that’s so relatable, it hurts because you know it’s unavoidable.
