600 pages of exposition to finally get some rising action MY GOD

Will I ever finish this book dear god

The random racism?? “Jeune Poole confessed herself frightened by the look of Jalaber Xho, an exile prince from the Summer Isles who wore a cape of green and scarlet feathers over skin as dark as knight…”

Two things: Catelyn is an absolute BITCH and I feel so bad for Jon Snow and two Martin is a subpar writer with absolutely no finesse or sense of poetic prose. The writing is so easy to get through cause it’s so surface level
