It is physically hurting me how awful everyone is to Anna. Girl is so used to sitting through the constant abuse from her family that she’s able to pretend the horrifying neon yellow ghost/demon haunting her is also just an inconvenience she must bear.

Yeah, I think one of the reasons this book made me so uncomfortable (in a way that I liked) is because the family dynamic is so fucked up at the same time that the horror stuff is happening.
