So... painfully... dense. But, at least I got to the dead carts, pits and mass hysteria, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

Yes!! Almost done! I never took so long to read this amount of pages. Duuuuullllllllllll...... but interesting; and I could say I even learned a thing or two. Go figure...

"...his ejaculation was an expression of thankfulness..." Um... phrasing? Also, still very dull, still very "christian" and still with a condescending tone. But I WILL finish this book, even if it is (likely) the last thing I ever do.

I had such high hopes for this book... but it's so dense. I get the historical context but the redundances and overly devotional Christianity throughout the text is figuratively murdering my interest. I know it's well written for the time in which it was released, but reading in it 2016 is proving to be a Herculean task.
