An excellent, detailed, and dry account of the achievements of the first emperor of Rome.

Antony certainly did lose his mind over Cleopatra in the last few years of his life. For someone who was a great military man, his desertion at Actium (and it was) was nothing short of scandalous. Leaving his legionnaires at the mercy of Octavius was terrible - no wonder most happily defected to the Octavians.

Brilliant. With the weakest member (Lepidus) of the 2nd Triumvirate left discredited and powerless. It's now Octavius (Augustus) and Mark Antony left. It'll be around 5 years until the battle of Actium and the final act in Octavius/Augustus coming to power.

Better than fiction.
