can kaladin catch a break?
it’s so depressing to read through Kal’s “demotion” from a highmarshal/general of more than a dozen soldiers to a barely functioning surgeon, who trembles even when holding a knife for violence.
a sentence in chapter 41 that breaks my heart even more:
the creature loomed over him and Kaladin kept his eyes down. you learned to do that, when you were a slave.
