Hadn't intended to read further tonight, but had a few minutes... Oh, that chapter (25)... Literally the last couple of lines. I thought this book was rage inducing so far, nothing, could have prepared me for the actual gut punch at the end of chapter 25.
I am not affected by this. I am not related to, nor do I know, anyone whose ancestors were affected by this. But I am so very angry.

I hadn't realised how young they still were. I thought like many other industrial illnesses, it affected them much later.

Also for a bookclub, this one is at the end of the month so around 15 pages a day should get it finished in time.
Non-fiction, and already knowing a little of this story, I'm already absolutely livid. These young women are being brought vividly to life, so young, so happy, so carefree and yet being so very betrayed.
