Re-reading this book two years later is like a punch to the gut because every single detail is beautifully tragic. The characters together are so complicated and messy and I love that, but in my 3rd read the family aspect is so emotional. "All girls lose their mothers or are lost to them, in the end" OMG what I sobbed. Penny and her mom make me so SAD, and Tate and her mom are so beautiful. I actually love this book.
