also, when bch says that physical discipline has "given way" to psychic discipline i think he's totally off the mark. like i do agree that now we see an increased focus on mental health puchic maladies burnout SAD etc, but these discourses seem more like an extension (not precise) of physical discipline. the focus is always on biochemical etiology of mental phenom. (eg neurotransmitters, brain-gut nexus, &c.)

bch must have chronic "on that damn phone syndrome" bc wym under neoliberalism the body is no longer the focus of capitalist discipline? do people no longer work in factories? do people no longer produce physical commodities using their bodies? are we all eating holographic meatloaf?
