New pet peeve! Trending: reviewers who say the book would have been better without the romance...in a romance novel! Um, huh??? Then why are you reading romance in the first place???

I so agree! I hear this so many times from those that assume they are "above" reading a romance novel. Do they mean they would prefer no explicit sex? Ok, I can accept that someone prefers "closed door" scenes. But relationships between people are what make the world interesting -- love, jealousy, attraction, values, friendships, etc... makes us human and interesting. Otherwise, just put robots in the story.
Girl, don't get me started on people who look down on romance! But in this case, these readers are picking up commercial romance novels and then complaining they wished the books didn't focus on romance. Boggles my mind!
