It’s okay… not really loving the whole “romantasy” genre. I think I would have at one point but now I want more fantasy, less romance. Still waiting for a bit more action. It seems like every time I start to get more excitement, it’s broken by Feyre’s slightly comical “character development” or by a romantic scene that doesn’t really do anything for me.

Chapter 19 was definitely not my cup of tea. A lot of filler and useless details that really don’t help motivate me to care about the characters.

The plot is starting to pick up and I’m actually starting to enjoy it. I like Feyre a lot more than Katniss Everdeen for sure.

The illusion to whatever this magical disease is is interesting. I’m definitely starting to see more parallels to Beauty and the Beast. I feel like it’s pretty obvious that Feyra was spared to be brought to Prythian to be Tamlin’s wife or something of that nature. If I had to guess it will parallel Beauty and the beast and she’ll be needed to “break the curse”.

The overall plot isn’t bad so far and I don’t dislike Feyra as a character. It’s just pretty standard for a fantasy plot and I’m not really seeing too much that sets it apart from the rest right now.

Good so far, the writing style kind of reminds me of the beginning of Red Queen.
