So the dad who treated his kid like garbage is suddenly totally in the right for what he did because of some stupid magical reason? What is this logic?

I get the feeling that in book two the world will expand a lot.

Less confusing than the beginning. Getting much better.

I wish there was more detail and explanation for stuff. I've seen middle grade with more explanation than this.

It's starting to make sense, but I wish I wasn't so reliant on the glossary to explain things. Usually teen books are a bit more cut and dry with their info, because teens don't pay attention very well.

So glad there's a glossary in the back. Too many strange words all at once.
