im not crazy into the writing style. its def old and hard to engage with. It seems like every senetence that is not dialoge is a metaphor. I dont like this because i think it cheapens the use of metaphors. like if everything is a metaphor then nothing really stands out or has sig meaning. I am getting to a good part tho. there is tension btw the 2 leaders Ralph and Jack. I wonder if theyll end up killing each other.

this book if frustrating to read bc its also unclear in dialogue. theres times where characters speaks back to back and the author doesn't distinguish who said what. its annoying keeping up with that much unclarity. in this scene ralph calls a meeting that the island is not being kept well and then they argue about a beast existing. ralph wants to give up being chief and jack may be a worse leader.
