Finally getting around to reading this before the third book comes out. I didn't like the first book, but Elsie tends to win me over with the second books in her series. However, the first chapter and set-up for this book makes me roll my eyes. Is Skylar one of those 'too stupid to live' characters?

I thought she was extremely naive for her age (which is why I had a hard time relating to her) but beyond that initial scene I don’t think she’s TSTL.
