this feels like a chore to read it is so slow and has boring characters along with the disturbing descriptive sex

A completely different story from the movie which can be upsetting. Also incredibly slow.

I like this book but it is awfully slow. I loved the movie and that is what inspired me to read this however they are almost opposites. I think some minor differences made a major impact. For example Nessarose is armless instead of paralyzed. Or Elaphaba is less of a reject in the novel. It’s hard to read a separate story from the movie and enjoy it considering how good the movie was.
