I can’t help but feel quite uncomfortable at the idea of a love that torments and shatters the hearts of the protagonists so rapidly, making them experience emotions that compels them to act heroically, throw themselves at the feet of their tormentors, kill and die for them. This drunk infatuation and obsession never fails to exhaust me , just by reading it.

If indeed this is the love, that exists in reality and is experienced by millions throughout the centuries, I want nothing to do with it. If a man became so obsessed with me that he would commit heinous acts and sacrifice his soul for a mere caress, I would be repulsed. It’s mere lustful passion disguised that would drive one to commit such madness, not love that nurtures and is the foundation of all that exists
