some good nuggets in here but I do wish it was written more FOR aces not about us. I think it’s evident that Chen’s background is investigative journalism and that is the lens through which they approached this book. I will read on with that context in mind. it doesn’t feel like an offering to me but perhaps a conversation I’m witnessing between allos and aces and the researchers who pathologize us…

feeling seen, my aceness is similar to Chen’s aside from having more early signs. I have always had a complex relationship with sex,
my desire for intimacy and yearning to be desired separate from physical intimacy itself but now knowing how or why, and definitely not sharing it with others. as I look forward to queer dating and possibly sex, I feel this book will give me language to ask to be met where I am
