Oh, that is such a hard question. I know whatever I answer tonight or tomorrow, I will say to myself - I should have chosen them! So I'll jump right in with both feet and say Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville because I devour any books about them and their period.
Thanks for the question.

My ideas come from history itself. All my books so far have been based on real events and I try to stick to the facts as much as possible.

Hello Mike, sorry for the delay in answering your question. I lived in England until I was in my mid-twenties and visit there every five years or so. So I do get the opportunity to visit places that I describe in my books like Ludlow and Warwick Castles. But when describing, for example, a market square in Hereford during an execution, I have to use my imagination. Thanks for your question.

Hello, Alan. So sorry it took me so long to answer your question. I won't bore you with the details of why. I don't feel at all aggrieved. The more the merrier. The War of the Roses seems to be a particularly popular period.
I envy you. You've already got a leg up in the publishing industry. Best of luck with the books.

What inspired me the most is to read other books. If they are good books they make me want to try harder. If they are great books...well, that's a little discouraging.

I am writing a novel about Margaret of Anjou, titled The Relentless Queen. It should be available at Amazon within a couple of weeks.

I wanted to answer, Just do it! But Goodreads decided it was too short. However, I like it so, Just do it!

The best thing without a doubt is the opportunity to exercise the imagination by trying to put yourself in other people's lives, experience their experiences, think their thoughts, feel what they may have felt. It's a form of escapism, just like reading, only more in depth.

I regard writer's block as my brain telling me it needs a rest. Since I have never had to work to a deadline I usually give it a rest. Generally reading a good book will get the brain motivated again.
