Cameron J. Quinn I recently pulled 1, 2, and 6 to rewrite them. I felt they weren't as good as they should be.
2 is in the works now and shaping up nicely. Then I have some continuity to check with 3-5 and I'll rewrite 6. 7-12 have not been released yet.
Cameron J. Quinn I'm currently reading How to Market a Book by Joanna Penn and I'm looking for a new book/series to get lost in this summer.
Cameron J. Quinn That's tough. I'm a romantic at heart and love reading different couples stories. To pick just one, I'd have to go with the couple from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dance With the Devil, Zarek and Astrid. They were the first fictional couple I really enjoyed and connected with which is one of the main reasons I chose to write in the first place. I also love Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy just cause I'm a sucker for a story where the pair starts out hating each other. Haha.
Cameron J. Quinn I take every experience with a grain of salt but having dealt with an extremely haunted house for three years, I tend to believe. Most of the things I write about are from legends and ghost stories unrelated to my own experience. Although, Lindsey's ghost experiences in the beginning of How to Get Kicked Out of School are a close friends personal story!
Cameron J. Quinn I'm really excited about a lot of things right now, but if I have to pick, I'd say Civilization is Dead is the one I'm looking forward to having complete. It's the first in a series and will be my first book that I provide in eBook and paperback formats. I just can't wait to hold it!
Cameron J. Quinn That's a loaded question! lol Here's my complicated answer ;) I started writing about Zeke and Marina (Zurik and Trent's parents) long before Zurik decided to take up space in my brain. The stories were high fantasy and very complicated. With different languages and an entirely different place. As a young writer I had a hard time keeping the story cohesive and on track. I have been working on outlining and building up the world in my mind as I write The Starsboro Chronicles. I need to make sure I can do the stories and the characters justice before I release them. So sometime in the early 2020's hopefully they will be making their paperback debut! Thanks for the question!
Cameron J. Quinn I am a planner. I haven't always been that way, but after writing 80k words to nowhere I learned how important outlines can be to save time. In the case of The Starsboro Chronicles, I knew where the series needed to go and wrote three of them. I thought they were the first three but as I polished How to Get Arrested for publication I realized that was not the case. Now there are three between Arrested and what was originally the second. So, it would seem I still have to work on my planning! ;)
Cameron J. Quinn I use free writing. I sit down with a pencil and a piece of paper and I write everything and anything that comes into my head until the story starts to come back.
Cameron J. Quinn I get to be with my kids full time and help my husband with the bills! It's the best of both worlds.
Cameron J. Quinn KEEP WRITING! Don't ever stop. No matter what other people say. Don't stop to edit, don't stop to make changes. Just keep writing until it's finished.
Cameron J. Quinn I am currently trying to finish up the first season of Starsboro. I love the characters, but I am looking forward to doing something else for a bit.
Cameron J. Quinn I don't. If I waited for inspiration I would never get anything written! Ideas come from everywhere, though. My planning mostly takes place on the road. In the summer I like to walk, and year round I drive flesh things out.
Cameron J. Quinn I got the idea for the Starsboro universe when I was 10. In 2011, Zurik made his presence known and I sat down to write about him. Just to get him out of my head so I could go back to writing about his parents. That scene became the opening scene of How to Get Arrested.
