Hi Silke. I'm glad you like my website. There are bloggers who post chapters of their stories on their blog, or send out the chapters via email or a newsletter. Usually, this is done to build readership of the blog or generate buzz for a book launch. Once you put the short story out for free, it may be difficult to get publisher interest.
I would think about what theme you want for your blog and put out content around the theme (books, recipes, writing). I hope this helps.

Hi Christine! I'm so happy you liked "Providence." The story is similar to Naaman's story in II Kings 5 where the prophet Elisha heals Naaman. Since Hannah's story is derived from II Kings 5, but not exact, I didn't name the prophet who healed my Naabak. The theology is the same in both stories. We see the kingdom of God going out from the Israelites into the heart of an enemy (Aramean) army commander.

Thank you, Christine! Jeremiah and Noah were two of my favorite characters to bring to the page. I was talking to my husband today about the daughters of Zelophehad and how there is a lot of Scripture dedicated to them and few know their story. These girls made it into the Torah! I hope readers never forget their faith in God. Thanks for reading their story.

It was a dark and stormy night when my mother dropped by for a visit sporting muddy boots. I had no paper towels to clean the mess.

Hand me a golden ticket! I would like to meet Mr. Wonka and go on the tour of his chocolate factory. I definitely would drink from the chocolate river, but I wouldn't fall in like Augustus. Running the factory would be a cool job!

I have a tall TBR list because I have several author friends with books out. My editor, Megan Whitson Lee, just released "Suburban Dangers" about the problem of human trafficking. Fellow PBG authors Kathleen Friesen and LoRee Peery are in my pile. Writers' Institute alum, Chris Norbury, has a thriller out--"Castle Danger." I am currently writing a book with several characters, so a friend recommended "The Royal We" by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan, so I could see how multiple characters are done right.

Great question! I needed iced tea this morning before thinking of an answer. When I was a kid, I put a paper plate full of coins on the window ledge. I slept with the window open, but the screen was in place. In the morning, the coins were gone and the window had not been tampered with. My family said they had not taken the coins. Where did they go?

I would have to say Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. I have seen "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen many, many times. Darcy strutting through the haze-covered field toward Elizabeth is one of my favorite scenes. A Valentine movie for sure.

I was teaching a series about young people in the Bible who did brave things and I taught on the servant girl in the story of Naaman in II Kings 5. This servant girl was captured by the enemy, was an Israelite, and believed the prophet of Israel could heal Naaman (the enemy army commander) from leprosy. We don't much else about her, so I wrote her backstory and gave her a fictionalized future.

I was teaching chapel to kindergarten through fifth graders--all at one time--and couldn't find curriculum for such a large age range. I began writing my own curriculum to share Bible stories and felt prompted to write novels.

I am working on another Biblical Romantic Adventure that will join "Providence: Hannah's Journey" and "Building Benjamin: Naomi's Journey." Naomi's story will release in 2017.

Always keep writing. I sold my fourth book after seven years of being a pre-published writer. I recite a line from "Finding Nemo," just keep swimming. And while you're swimming, learn as much as you can about the craft of writing.

Setting my own schedule is a big plus. I write on a pad of paper, so I can write anywhere. It's a lot of fun to create characters and write their life journey, especially with a little romance mixed in.

I have a brainstorming group that helps me work through difficult places in my novel. Music and prayer also help me focus on my story.
