I saw a discussion happening about Western novels--they were saying how fascinating it was that you had people who existed inside the law, and people who existed outside the law.
And my brain immediately went--whoa, what would that actually look like today. What if we just had some people who the law didn't apply to. At all. You could do anything to them. And they could do anything to you. The only rule for an Outlaw is whatever limitations exist in their own mind.
So then, of course, you have to be able to see an Outlaw, right? Boom. Nanochips.
And then suddenly, I had a character who'd never done anything wrong being randomly turned Outlaw. Whoa! Why? What did she do? She didn't do anything. No she did EVERYTHING?
Uh oh. Wait what?
What did she do?
She fell in LOVE with an Outlaw--a secret bio-engineered super soldier trapped in an underground lab.
And voila. Tierney and Three were born.
And that, my friends, is how my chaotic brain creates.

Hey Tanya!
I totally hear you about series. The wait is so frustrating. I'm not sure but I think I've kinda given up on Song of Ice and Fire, and it hurts my heart.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Outlaw though. That's amazing to hear. I love TJ and Three so much. I've got it written, and it's in editing stage. Just needs some love and polishing.
I'm hard at work wrapping up #4 in After the Plague which will come out in a couple months, and then will turn my focus to Wanted. I'm hoping to have Wanted hit the shelves by Christmas 2021.
If you haven't already, please consider signing up for my newsletter at www.ImogenKeeper.com. I share sneaky-peeks of the stories as I work on them, so you'll get a chance to visit with TJ and Three outside of Outlaw, and you'll be the first to know when it hits shelves.

Hey Tanya!
Thanks so much for reaching out. I'm so excited to hear that you've got your eye on plague.
I hear you about series and waiting until they're done. I'm still regretting starting Song of Ice and Fire because I'm not sure the next book is ever coming out. And it is sad and frustrating sometimes.
I'm hard at work on After the Plague #4 which is called Safe and will be released in the next few months.
This will be a longer series. I've got 9 books plotted out so far. BUT to combat that feeling of unfulfillment and frustration for readers--I've plotted them out in 3 book installments--meaning I don't think you really need to wait for the next book to enjoy 1-3 fully. But maybe wait for the release of #6 before carrying on and into #4.
I don't think I end on cliffhangers. I resolve the main issue inside each individual book--but do let a larger question dangle over the course of three books, and clue into the next books main issue at the end.
The end of the third book (Found) finishes with the main overarching storyline from the first three books resolved, and the characters set to embark on the next stage of their journey, which will be the next three books (4-6).
So I hear you about waiting--but it could be a long wait for me to finish ALL the books. And I do think you'll feel satisfied with the ending of the third book, even if you will be ready for the next when the come.
Readers so far have expressed anticipation, excitement and joyous expectations for #4 but so far no one has complained about the wait or told me they felt angry or dissastisfied with where I left the characters.
I hope this helps.
Feel free to sign up for my newsletter at www.ImogenKeeper.com for the first book free, so you can take a peek and decide if it's worth the risk to start now, and to be the first to know about updates and new releases. I also share sneaky peeks and behind the scenes information on my process and where I am in the story.
No matter what you decide, I wish you the best. And happy reading. All I ever want is for readers to enjoy my stories.

I'm hoping to get this out by Summer of 2022. It's called Draw Dirty for Me, and it features Bree, Crowley's assistant and his cantankerous bodyguard, Danylo.
She's got a penchant for dirty drawings. He's in most of them, being deadly hot and silent.
They go on a business trip together, and he see her drawings. Of him. Being sexy.
What's a guy to do except offer to turn her drawings into reality?

I'm working on a dystopian romantic trilogy called City of a Thousand Liars. The first book Outlaw is done. Wanted is almost there. The last one, Captive, is still a tangle. But I'm so excited about this story.
Here's a little quote:
“I know everything I need to know.” His head cocks like he’s weighing his words. “When you first came in, you almost pitied me.” He says it so softly, I barely even hear the words. “It was there in your eyes. No fear of Outlaw. No hate. Just…humanity.”
I shouldn’t believe a word that pours from his silver tongue. All these things he says, he’s saying them so he can use me, control me. Or maybe he is telling the truth, maybe the humanity in me calls to the beast in him.
“I am afraid of Outlaws,” I say. “I did fear you.”
“You didn’t just fear me. And you didn’t hate me on sight. You met my eyes.”
Is that what this man craves from me? What keeps him staring at me like a starving animal? For me to look at him and see him?

I'd fly on a spaceship to planet Vesta, climb up the vine-wrapped cliff of the Roq, watch the sun set ruby red over the quarts city, as bare-chested tattooed drummers danced in their togattas under the light of a thousand flissa flies, stroll through the candle-strewn Selissa's garden where the birds flutter on petal-soft breezes. After all that, if I could find a willing Prime...I'd find out what happens when an Earthling and a Vestan Prime get nasty.
