This is a tough question. Sometimes I feel that the task is too much and that I will not go to the end of the writing process. The key is to have at least one (1) person that could encourage you and mentor you during the process. An another way to deal with the writer block is to be proactive and anticipate the obstacles and have a plan to deal with them.

Writers need to find a topic that they love, and passionate about. They need to know what their life purpose is, what are the contributions they could make to improve other people life. Once the writer knows how he could help other, then he or she gets the topic for his book. I am talking here about nonfiction as this is the field I have experience with.

Now, I am working on two (2) research project with the University of Washington / ITECH (International Training and Education Center on Health). Those research are funded by NIH (National Institute for Health). You know in Haiti, the HIV prevalence is the highest in the Caribbean region. My mentor, Nancy Puttkamer form the University of Washington get a grant from NIH so we could do research on how to improve adherence to HIV treatment (Anti-Retroviral Treatment) for HIV patient. We are also working on how to help more people get tested and know their HIV status. Once they get tested, they need to be linked to care and follow their treatment. Once they are on care, their viral load need to be undetectable. That is a huge challenge for Haiti. This research project will come with innovative strategies to overcome key obstacles to HIV prevention and HIV management in Haiti.

The model I have developed is rooted in my personal experience as a medical doctor, consultant in the field of continuous quality improvement in the health sector, and as a spiritual leader. The ideas for this come from multiple sources. That is why this book is so unique: I use very scientific and systematic approach, and also I add a spiritual element to the book that makes it like a revolution in the field of quality of life. The model I propose is a holistic and comprehensive model to improve our quality of life and change our life for the better.

The idea for this book begins during my Ph.D. study (In Public Health) at the medical school at the University of Montreal, Canada. I have been exposed to the Parsons Social Action Theory there. Some of my professors play a key role in that endeavor: Professor Claude Sicotte, Lambert Farand, Francois Champagne, Marie-Pascale Pomey. I get inspiration from their model to develop a unique innovation on my own that combine continuous quality improvement, quality of life and the Parsons Social Action Theory.
