Rob Shepherd It would probably have to be the 4 other dominions of the Imajica, from Clive barkers book Imajica. What would I do there? That is a good question. I think firstly I would just soak up the atmosphere, the smells, sights, and sensations. Aside from that, it would be to eat & drink everything I could try on my way to Yzordderrex. Hopefully, I could do this before being caught and unmade by the Autarch.
Rob Shepherd The scream, blood-curdling in all its awful wondrous terror, seemed distant, but gradually seemed to get closer and closer until, as I stood at the bathroom mirror, I watched my own mouth open and my own, once world renown vocals, scratched and destroyed by this thing that stood before me on the other side of the glass, its flesh, my own flesh, dripping off the bone and into the sink as I watch in disgust and sheer terror.
Rob Shepherd I have many books on my reading list right now. But the ones I am most looking forward to getting to read are; The Quarry by Mark Allan Gunnels, Bound by Andrew Lennon & Matt Hickman, Nameless by Mercedes M. Yardley and Infestation by Matt Shaw.
Rob Shepherd The first I guess is just a bit of fun, which is the fact that I look identically to my Grandfather, literally down to the small details and mannerisms. Which is a weird thing. In terms of real mysteries it would be odd occurrences or experiences in the home when I was just a teenager. The consequences and subsequent things that have happened many years down the line seem strangely serendipitous to this event and so writing a book plot you could use that and link those events and situations to it.
Rob Shepherd I don't think I have a traditional fictional couple, the term can be broad and taken in many ways. In my case I think my favorite fictional couple would be "Gentle" & "Pie-oh-Pah" from Clive Barker's Imajica. The reason being, in short, is that they are both a world away from each other in personality, physicality, even reality. Both are flawed but inherently good "people". However both are wonderfully complex and rich in character. There is a lot of dynamism and friction, yet the tenderness behind the love both have for each other whether they realize it or not, is extraordinarily powerful. There is so much to read, to discuss and to generally think about after reading the book, but especially after each interaction between Gentle and Pie. They are incredibly rich and engaging characters, that between them you are left wondering just where the story will take them and in what direction it will take their relationship. These two in particular, hold a very special place in my mind and in my literary heart.
Rob Shepherd I don't think about it. if I am not finding anything of substance or anything at all coming out naturally, then I walk away and do other things, watch tv, films, do the gardening, walk the dog, draw, paint or make little short videos. Anything other than writing. Writing is about love. If you don't love doing it, then you shouldn't be doing it. You have to love writing, it should never be about forcing yourself to write something, because if you do, whatever you write when you force yourself, will be crap and not worth the effort you reluctantly employed into it. However a few paragraphs, a few sentences, hell, even one line is still writing and you have still written, often that can help unlock other ideas to continue the story etc. But at the end of the day, I prefer to let it come naturally if I can, let my heart and my inner creator take the reigns and lead me.
Rob Shepherd Creating your own worlds and your own situations and sharing your love of writing and of those worlds with other people. Giving your innermost secret ego and letting other people take on those worlds and explore them and even move them on further than you envisioned originally. Sharing my love of the word and of creating with other people and getting their love of those things returned to me is the greatest gift and the most wonderful reward you can ever have, it is the greatest love the language of storytelling gives us.
Rob Shepherd My advice is simple. If you love writing, then simply write.

Go with it, don't let anybody tell you to do otherwise, nothing can stop you writing, you can do it anywhere, all you need is a pen/pencil and a notepad. Don't be blinded by so called tips and tricks to writing stories or plots etc. You write how you feel natural writing, that is where your own true voice lies, don't let anyone take that from you. There is no time limit, so never rush anything, just write.
Rob Shepherd I am currently working on several short stories for various anthologies, ranging from horror, suspense, murder to YA. I also have some film and screen scripts I am currently working on as well as novels for sometime in the near future.
Rob Shepherd The world and it's myriad experiences it has to offer from day to day and the billions of small seemingly insignificant occurrences inspire me, a simple action by something as random as an insect on a wall in a given place or scenario will spark a story idea. Other inspirations are obviously other books, music and movies and sometimes, it just hits me out of the blue and so I go with it and see where it leads.
Rob Shepherd I get my ideas from all sorts of places, some from song titles, television content or simply blue sky day dreaming and thinking to myself that nobody seems to have written about this, thus I will write it. But I wanted to give people a true idea of my writing and so set out to compile a book of short stories and novellas, ranging from ghosts to demons to psychosis.
