Goodreads asked Rob Shepherd:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Rob Shepherd I don't think about it. if I am not finding anything of substance or anything at all coming out naturally, then I walk away and do other things, watch tv, films, do the gardening, walk the dog, draw, paint or make little short videos. Anything other than writing. Writing is about love. If you don't love doing it, then you shouldn't be doing it. You have to love writing, it should never be about forcing yourself to write something, because if you do, whatever you write when you force yourself, will be crap and not worth the effort you reluctantly employed into it. However a few paragraphs, a few sentences, hell, even one line is still writing and you have still written, often that can help unlock other ideas to continue the story etc. But at the end of the day, I prefer to let it come naturally if I can, let my heart and my inner creator take the reigns and lead me.
