Lea Carter I hope you get the new keypad soon. :) As for keeping stories separate, I tend to get scene ideas more than story ideas. If I can get enough of a scene written down before my mind has jumped to something else, then I can usually remember it (vividly) if I happen to come back to it. Most of my scene ideas just sit and gather dust, though. If I had bona fide story ideas, I suppose I would dedicate a binder or a spiral notebook--or a digital folder--to them.
Lea Carter Lol, no begging required. It's nowhere close to ready for ARC's, but I'll reach out to you when it is. :)
Sorry for the delay in my response, I just got back from a "no-signal" area.
Lea Carter You're welcome! I do have a work in progress, but it would be optimistic to say that it will be out by August. Much more likely that it will hit the market in November.
Lea Carter If it works for you, yes. I'm sorry for such a vague response, but that sort of thing is unique to you. Some authors use detailed timelines, chapter outlines, etc. Other authors (including myself) like to be as surprised as their readers!
Lea Carter Write. Don't worry about mistakes or weaknesses. "Great books are revised, not written," to quote something I heard at a writer's conference a few years back.
Lea Carter Oh, I'm horrible at starting my stories. If I'm feeling particularly enthusiastic, I might jot something down when the idea first occurs, or record it on my phone. But it often takes five or six false starts for me to get from the fact that there's a story to be told to getting it satisfactorily transferred to a Word document. Is that what you meant? If you were asking how I start my stories, it's often with an action scene. I put the main character in a tough spot and they take it from there. I'm not on the internet everyday, but I'll be glad to respond whenever I can. :-)
Lea Carter Doris,

I'm very grateful for your son's service, and hope he has safely transitioned to being home.
I do quite a bit of research as I write, yes. Perhaps a surprising amount, given that I write fantasy. I don't have a favorite country, but I have reached back in time for names (ex. Arnold Mosley, named for Benedict Arnold and a British fascist in WWII) and for information about weapons, navigation, archaic "technology," etc.
Silver Princess is the first story I ever finished writing and it began as an attempt to record something that actually happened to me as a teenager, when I came off a horse and was knocked unconscious. I'm still surprised when I think of how adding a set of wings to the story got all of this started! As for being published, I'm not traditionally published, not by, for example, Random House or Bantam Books, etc. I did some research and decided to try independent publishing, via Amazon, then branched out to print. Thank you so much for asking. Please don't hesitate to reach out again.
Lea :)
Lea Carter From my last book. ;) That's the beauty of writing a series.
