Hi Flora. I saw the author speak about her book at a coffee house presentation and decided to buy the book, mostly because of the author's drive to write about something that was very difficult for her to overcome. Although I mostly write mysteries, I believe it is important for writers to read books from different genres. I'm not sure I have the guts to write something that revealing, which is probably why I transfer my fears and concerns into fictional stories. Thanks for your question.../Ernie

There are currently 50 books on my To-Read list and I normally read about 25 a year so I think I'm getting farther and farther behind. I just finished a real good book called "Life Reboot" by Sarah Wall which I would highly recommend. I'm also looking forward to the new book by Terry Fallis called "One Brother Shy" which is supposed to released by the end of the month. I've read all of his previous books and highly recommend them. There's still some books by David Baldacci that I haven't read so I'll probably read one or two of his as well. I also like trying books by Indie authors which I normally stumble across through BookBub.

Although I write fiction, all of my books have huge chunks of real-life events embedded in them. For example, "Goliath" is about Henry's bipolar brother who tells him a fantastic story while in one of his manic states. That part is true - the rest of the story is fiction. "The Back Nine" is a story about life after fifty. Some of the plot line is based on things that happened to me in real life, some are based on stories told to me by members of the golf club where I worked as a starter, and some are fiction. I find the stories are better if they are based on real-life events because the feelings and emotions come through.
Even my latest novel, "Women 101", is based somewhat on real-life events. Some of it is based on stupid things I did when I was dating, some of it is based on stupid things my son did, and some is complete fiction. I'll leave it up to the reader to determine which is which.

I have to admit I prefer books where the "couple" are not really a couple yet because it continues the suspense of will-they or won't-they. An example of this is the relationship between Stephanie Plum and Joe Morelli in Janet Evanovich's series of books.
Another potential relationship is the one between Will Robie and Jessica Reel in David Baldacci's books. In "The Hit", they start out trying to kill each other but you can feel the relationship growing. I still haven't finished reading the entire series but I'm keen to find out what happens.
In my own "Goliath" series of books, I'm still trying to decide whether Henry and Laura will continue their relationship in the next book of the series (tentatively titled "The Third Option").
But to answer your question, my favourite couple is probably Eve Dallas and Roarke in J.D. Robb's "In Death" series of books. This is because they are both strong characters on their own, but stronger together.
