Have you started to write a second book?
Iona Grey Marie, I've only just seen this - I'm so sorry! The upside is that I can now say that my second book is finished (I must have missed your message when I was deep in the writing) and submitted, so should hopefully be out next year.

Iona, I am reading Letters To The Lost. You are putting my emotions on an emotional rollercoaster. I love this book so much but I seem to have come across an confusion involving Daisy. The Chapter 33 has the year 1943 but also Daisy. Just wondering if this was just a slight mistake as my group, I am doing chapter discussions. Leaving out spoilers as some members have not read it. Is it simply a typo?
Iona Grey Hello Paige and thanks for your message! So happy to hear you're enjoying the book. I wasn't aware of the issue you raised but have just had a look and you're absolutely right! In the US edition the 1943 heading for the section that begins with the blue pills is a mistake and should say 1944. I think it must have been added in at a late stage to flag up the change between time frames because in the UK edition no date appears. Well spotted!!

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Iona Grey Being a writer calls upon a set of skills (if you can call being good at making things up a skill...) that aren't compatible with many other jobs. So to me, one of the very best things about being a writer is being able to make a living from doing the only thing at which I actually feel competent!

I also love being able to work from home, around the demands of my family, being able to eat the leftover lasagne for lunch in my pyjamas, and the massive amount of support and friendship that exists in the writing community. (And I do really, really love making things up.)

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Iona Grey I think that writer's block is a sure sign that something in the book isn't working, so the first thing I do is stop writing. Sometimes it helps to read back over the manuscript and see if I can identify where a different path could have been taken, and sometimes I just run a bath and think. It's amazing how ideas come to you when you're up to your chin in water!
