The upside is that I can now say that my second book is finished (I must have missed your message when I was deep in the writing) and submitted, so should hopefully be out next year. (less)

So to me, one of the very best things about being a writer is being able to make a living from doing the only thing at which I actually feel competent!

I also love being able to work from home, around the demands of my family, being able to eat the leftover lasagne for lunch in my pyjamas, and the massive amount of support and friendship that exists in the writing community. (And I do really, really love making things up.)(less)

“Please know, my dearest darling, how much I miss you — every moment — and how I'm longing to be back with you soon. Have courage, brave girl. In a world that is small enough for the same moon to hang over us both, we can't ever be too far apart.”
Iona Grey, The Glittering Hour

“Footfalls echo in the memory Down the passage we did not take, Towards the door we never opened Into the rose garden–T.S. ELIOT”
Iona Grey, The Glittering Hour

“Think about today, not tomorrow. Dance over the cracks so you don't fall into them. Drink champagne in the afternoons and invent ridiculous cocktails to make the ruined world glitter again. Keep going, one foot in front of the other. Don't look down.”
Iona Grey, The Glittering Hour
