I fell in love with reading at a very early age, mostly because my mother was a school teacher and she insisted that my sisters and I be able to read really well. It wasn't until a career change that I was able to embrace my joy of writing. I'm happiest when I'm writing. I will always write. I can't help myself.

One of the things I think that help me not to be blocked is that I write my novels from detailed outlines, which means that if I'm stuck at some point in the story I can go to another part and just write whatever comes into my head.
Most of the time I can't type fast enough to get all the words in my head down on the page.(less)

I guess I'd have to say it's the chance to explore all the characters and stories that are in your head and heart. Some of those stories won't translate very well to the written page, and others will.
But the most important thing is to let your imagination be your guide and see what is possible.(less)

The rush

I am in the final days before the release of my next book in the Right Guy series--Finding Mr. Fixit. I love this story, the feelings--that first rush when you see someone across a crowded room, at a street corner, or in a bar and feel that sensation that you've met before, or maybe you can't take your eyes off him. All of it creates the sensation that this is it. This is the one. That's what happ Read more of this blog post »
