Diagnosis: Patriotism (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets
You know what distinguishes
a reformist from a terrorist!
The capacity to destroy the world,
yet choosing not to.
The capacity to press the button,
yet choosing not to.
The capacity to pull the trigger,
yet choosing not to.
The capacity to oblige the state,
but choosing humanity instead.
The capacity to be patriotic,
yet choosing to be human instead.
War is the symptom,
patriotism is the disease.
Terrorists harbor patriotism,
Reformists harbor peace.
a reformist from a terrorist!
The capacity to destroy the world,
yet choosing not to.
The capacity to press the button,
yet choosing not to.
The capacity to pull the trigger,
yet choosing not to.
The capacity to oblige the state,
but choosing humanity instead.
The capacity to be patriotic,
yet choosing to be human instead.
War is the symptom,
patriotism is the disease.
Terrorists harbor patriotism,
Reformists harbor peace.

Ban Bombs, Not Books | Abhijit Naskar | World War Human: 100 New Earthling Sonnets
Peace is a crime against state, that’s
why patriotism is a glorified quality.
More patriotic the citizens of a nation,
less likely they’ll question warmongery.
Question hate, not harmony.
Ban bombs, not books.
Doubt borders, not benevolence.
Chain the worms, not wombs.
why patriotism is a glorified quality.
More patriotic the citizens of a nation,
less likely they’ll question warmongery.
Question hate, not harmony.
Ban bombs, not books.
Doubt borders, not benevolence.
Chain the worms, not wombs.

Give me a pen, I’ll give you peace (Sonnet) – Abhijit Naskar, Azad Earth Army: When The World Cries Blood
One pen can defeat a thousand guns,
that’s why books get banned, not guns.
There’s nothing more dangerous than
books that radicalize you against war.
When you take away fear from the citizens,
you take away their initiative for war.
And when citizens no longer conform to war,
that’s the biggest threat to political power.
You cannot ask citizens to pay for the bombs,
if they believe more in peace than paranoia.
Stupid taxpayers are the biggest sponsors of war,
patriotism is genocide, military is massacre.
I have zero tolerance for any civilian, politician
or scholar who takes pride in the military –
go back to the jungle, because that’s where you
belong, with the rest of your animal society.

Fugitive Peace (Sonnet 2219) – Abhijit Naskar, Iftar-e Insaniyat: The First Supper
In the opera of war, peace is fugitive –
thinking soldiers are no good to state,
either you kill without question, and grab
your medal, or get discharged dishonorably.
Thinking citizens are no good to democracy,
either you obey blind or be branded a terrorist.
Either you hold your mouth, mind and backbone,
or be jailed as an anarchist.
If you want to be an actor,
don’t go to film school,
become an intern to some politician.
Some say secularism is in their blood,
some say liberty, all the while being
the posterboys of persecution.
No politician will prioritize peace,
if they did, they would be out of business.
War is the currency of political power –
abandon fanaticism, and politicians go extinct.

Neuronigger (Sonnet 2316) – Abhijit Naskar, Kral Fakir: When Calls The Kainat

Call me pilgrim or call me beggar,
you be my Shams, I, your Mevlana.
Call me neuro or call me nigger,
to some I’m Valium, to others Viagra.
Without salt from the South of Earth,
world philosophy, world science,
world poetry, all collapse into dust.
Wipe the south from history,
you wipe out culture and civilization,
wipe the north, you spare the planet
the most uncivilized of criminals.
Yet, holocaust for holocaust
leaves humanity in plaster cast;
human defends human,
dreams this Neuronigger.

In English we say:
for the people, by the people.

my world, my responsibility.
In English we say:
blood is thicker than water.
In Naskarian we say:
humanity is thicker than blood and border.
In English we say:
if you want peace, prepare for war.
In Naskarian we say:
if you want peace, prepare for education.
In English we say:
when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

when on Earth, do as a Human should.
In English we say:
necessity is the mother of invention.
