Lara Lee is a professional graphic designer, HEMA swordfighter, wife, mother, author, blogger, and homeschool teacher with a Master's Degree in Special Education. She wrote books, illustrated children's books, and contributed short stories to multiple anthologies and magazines. Bitten by wanderlust at a young age, she has lived in three states and four countries and has visited even more destinations with insatiable curiosity. Currently, she lives in Texas (again) with her husband, two sons, a daughter, and a cat, who all regularly participate in her misadventures and random schemes.

I do write reviews, but I don't like cliffhanger endings or open endings that expects me to read the whole series to get a good story. I'll see if it fit what I like to review. If I do start reading it and dislike it for some reason, I send an email saying I can't review it. I don't like posting negative reviews if I can help it.(less)
Lara Lee I read! I also try to keep a journal and observe the quirky life situations around me. In general, reading inspires me the most.

Lara Wanders to the National Museum of Wildlife Art

I really did not know what to expect of an art museum in a town of 10,000 people. Jackson Hole, Wyoming is a high-class gem in the midst of the Rocky Mountains, but how nice of museum could possibly exist in the middle of a state with less people than most big cities? It turns […]

“How many times has the question been raised 'why do bad things happen to good people?' Why was nature created to be an indiscriminate source of good and evil in the world? The question is as old as time and yet is new for each person who asks it. Everyone thinks they are the first to go through events that raised the question in their hearts. In many ways, they are both right and wrong.”
Lara Lee, Gryphendale

“The world is mad, and it takes a little madness at times to put it back in order again.”
Lara Lee

“Thanks for the help,” said Nathaniel with a sigh.

Timothy shook his head. “I didn't do anything, That was all you.”

Arthur turned around and threw his dagger into a Kalathite soldier coming through the chamber doors.

“Great reunion. Talk about it later,” said Arthur as he went to get his dagger out of the soldier's face.”
Lara Lee, The Shadow of the Gryphon

“Living this long's not as wonderful as people think. I mean, you get the same amount of youth as everyone else, but a great big extra helping of being very old and deaf and creaky.”
Terry Pratchett, Wintersmith

“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.”
C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain

“Fantasy is escapist, and that is its glory. If a soldier is imprisioned by the enemy, don't we consider it his duty to escape?. . .If we value the freedom of mind and soul, if we're partisans of liberty, then it's our plain duty to escape, and to take as many people with us as we can!”
J.R.R. Tolkien

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”
Dr. Seuss

“Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality. It's a way of understanding it.”
Lloyd Alexander
