A. B. Patterson is an Australian writer who knows first-hand about corruption, power, crime and sex. He was a Detective Sergeant in the WA Police, working in paedophilia and vice, and later was a Chief Investigator with the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption.

He now lives in Sydney and loves to holiday in France.
In 2015 he published his debut crime novel, "Harry's World". The sequel, "Harry's Quest", was published in 2018. He has also had short crime fiction published in the US, in "Switchblade" magazine and "Econoclash Review". In 2020 he published his first collection of short stories, "Harry Kenmare, PI - At Your Service".

Hi Karen,
My apologies for the delay, we've been travelling and have only been home a few days.
My inspiration? Well, aside from loving good stories and so wanting to be able to craft them as well, I want to be able to put my life experiences out there, albeit in fictional form. My professional background has given me a wealth of material to draw on, and whilst a lot of it is dark, I do want to be able to show people what actually goes on in society. I also like to be able to make social comment in my work. And the great thing I've found as I've got into writing - I just want to do it more and more. I wish I'd started younger, but I intend to make up for lost time!(less)

Cops Writing Crime - 2 new members join The Squad.

​Another 2 colleagues (1 American and 1 British) join The Squad today, bringing its numbers to 429.

That's 429 cops and ex-cops (and other law enforcement types, plus some PIs) who have taken to writing crime fiction. You won't get more realistic crime tales than those from this Squad!
