Reviews, reviews, reviews...get as many as you can, that is the big strategy for everyone. So I am trying. I have my short story out, Life-Changing Money and I plan to start sending Advanced Readers Copies of Kill Crime to librarians, book blog reviews, and established reviewers. (If you want to And I guess to everyone I can.

Do I send them to people I know will buy because they know me? I have had mixed emotions, but I think I do. Get the reviews. I know that Goodreads reviews are very important.

I have found book funnel is great to get people to sign up on my list for the free Life-Changing Money. The big question is will they convert to sales and reviews. Don't know yet.

I am over 10,000 words on my short story prequel, but I see an entire novel forming.

It takes place as Case is getting out of the Army and interviewing for a job in New York, four years before Book 1, Kill Crime takes place.

If I do develop this into a full novel, it will be Book 4. I have Book 1 almost ready to publish, Book 2 is being edited and Book 3 is started. Can you have the 4th book in a series be a prequel, then pick back up in the storyline with Book 5? I'm not sure how that would be accepted.

So I may keep this storyline for my free short story and really shorten it up or maybe a completely different story.

I started a few days writing an original short story for my Crime/Thriller series with Jeff Case. It has 7,954 words, but it isn't even done yet and it hasn't been edited so it will change. I hope to finish up with about 8,000-10,000 words. It will be a free giveaway to sign up on my website www.mikeslavinauthor.com Right now an early version of the opening of Kill Crime is there, but the book has changed (got better).

Also close to getting my first Crime/Thriller published, Kill Crime-final edits and working on a cover with a designer now.
