I am over 10,000 words on my short story prequel, but I see an entire novel forming.

It takes place as Case is getting out of the Army and interviewing for a job in New York, four years before Book 1, Kill Crime takes place.

If I do develop this into a full novel, it will be Book 4. I have Book 1 almost ready to publish, Book 2 is being edited and Book 3 is started. Can you have the 4th book in a series be a prequel, then pick back up in the storyline with Book 5? I'm not sure how that would be accepted.

So I may keep this storyline for my free short story and really shorten it up or maybe a completely different story.
