If I'm ever stuck on something, I distract myself by working on something else, like editing the previous chapter. I also like to meditate before I write to clear my mind. I attend a weekly session with a group called Mindful Writers. We meditate and then write for four solid hours. It might sound odd, but it really works. My teacher, Madhu Bazazz Wangu, created a fabulous series of guided meditations for writers. I downloaded it so I can use it to meditate at home, too.(less)

I love working at home, in my pajamas, with a big cup of coffee on my desk. I love creating stories and characters and worlds that would never have existed if I hadn't written them down. I love the editing process, and working with an editor to make my books as good as I possibly can. I even love the promo part, sharing my books with others and hoping they'll enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.(less)
