William Rubin is a practicing physician who enjoys weaving tales of medical/scientific intrigue. Writing for him is equal parts catharsis, creativity, and escape from the rigors of a busy medical practice and the joys and challenges of raising a family.

The works of James Patterson, Robin Cook, Tess Gerritsen, and Patricia Cornwell inspired Dr. Rubin to create the Christopher Ravello Series. Challenges and tragedies in Dr. Rubin’s life, particularly the untimely death of his mother, provided some of the underlying drama, conflict, and turmoil for the series’ lead character.

When he isn’t busy practicing medicine or crafting his next medical thriller, Dr. Rubin enjoys time with his family and friends, running, playing piano, and travel.

What I can tell you is that events from my own life are often integrated into the plots and action of my books. For example, Chris Ravello and I both suffered tremendous heartache/loss regarding our mothers, which I indicated on the back cover of Forbidden Birth. But, other times I only hint about these inclusions from my personal life, leaving it up to the reader to pick up on these things.
I am, by nature, a curious person and enjoy constantly learning about new things and questioning what is going on in the world. I like to ask "What if...?" So, there are many mysteries in my life and the world at large that find their way into my books.

I enjoyed the complexity of their relationship, their intelligence, compassion, selflessness, and love of each other, family and friends, and of doing what is right for those around them. I loved the fact that at the end of the series they overcame overwhelming odds to not only stay together happily, and to save the world, but that in so doing they were rewarded by saving their daughter from dying in the process.
