Born in Montreal, Canada, Mark Mijuskovic is a retired high school principal and the only child of a Serbian immigrant father and Ukrainian/Canadian mother. The promise of the auto industry found the family relocating to the Detroit, Michigan area where his father built a career in repairing the big tool and dye presses that stamped out the dreams of Henry Ford and other automotive moguls.

The backdrop for his current novel, Gathered by the Fire, is the blue collar sixties and seventies suburbs of Detroit. The story runs the gamut between the whimsical nature of neighborhood adolescents and the sobering realities created by adults in their midst. If a target audience exists for this story, it might be found among the Baby Boomer generation.

Finding Readers

In the wake of celebrating my honorable mention status for Gathered by the Fire in the 2022 New York Book Festival, I remain both frustrated and dumbfounded at how difficult it is to find readers.
