About the Author:

Sarah V. Hines is the author of The Siren Tragedies. She was born in Ohio and currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her half-Bengal, half-demon cat, Balthazar. She majors in International Relations and Anthropology when she has time and money and hopes to work in policy-making someday. It makes for a very long writing process, but it lets me write the absolute best story I can come up with.(less)

Author Talk: Internal vs External Conflict

Fiction readers are all about the drama.

Obviously, there wouldn't be much of a story if there weren't drama or at least some sort of conflict that drives the characters and the plot. I have constantly said that readers (and authors) fall into two categories: those that want character-driven stories and those that want plot-driven stories.

In essence, these can be connected to two writing devices-- Read more of this blog post »
