When Shadows Linger

"When Shadows Linger" is my first novel and I am proud to say that it is now available on Amazon as a paperback and on kindle. It is the story of Maggie Sinclair, thirty-one years old, who is suddenly widowed when her husband dies in an accident following a winter storm in Wisconsin. Unable to move on because of the constant memories surrounding her, Maggie relocates to Vermont. It is there that she meets Ben Grayson. As their friendship becomes more serious, Maggie turns to her late husband, seeking permission to move on and find happiness. The reader accompanies Maggie on her emotional journey as she is visited by her husband on several occasions in various forms.
Maggie's story is one that can be related to by those who have suffered any kind of loss through death, divorce or abandonment. In other words, we can all relate to Maggie's story in some way.
I hope you will read "When Shadows Linger" and find it to be as meaningful as I meant it to be. I welcome your comments.

Loss

Have you suffered loss through death, abandonment, divorce or abuse? Yes, these are some of the various kinds of loss that people may suffer from. And we have all, at one time or another, had loss in our life. How do we deal with it and move on? Can grief be resolved? Read about Maggie Sinclair in my novel, "When Shadows Linger." Maggie became a young widow when her husband died tragically in a car accident. As she attempts to move on in life, she repeatedly turns to her late husband for his support. He appears to her in various forms, such as a shadow, a soft touch and eventually in person. A therapist, Maggie also works at resolving her own grief by helping her clients with their losses.
The setting of the story is in beautiful Vermont. Laugh and cry with Maggie as she seeks happiness.

"When Shadows Linger" is available on Amazon in paperback and as an ebook.

mental health

As a semi-retired clinical social worker, I write my books with two goals in mind--the first, to provide hope and inspiration to my readers; and the second, to provide a good story.

We all go through various things in life--love, loss, grief, disappointment. And there are issues in today's society that have an impact on all of us at some point, either directly or indirectly. They may include substance abuse, family problems, mental health issues, or a variety of others. My hope is to provide inspiration through my writing that will help readers resolve their problems--knowing that they are not alone.

When Shadows Linger

Free on Friday, September 4, Maggie Sinclair, thirty-one years old, is widowed when her husband dies in a car accident following a winter storm. Having difficulty remaining in Wisconsin because of constant memories, Maggie moves to Vermont to start a new life. Opening up a private therapy practice, she meets Ben Grayson, a psychologist with an office in her building. Maggie is reluctant to become involved with Ben as she is still in love with her husband. As time passes, Maggie encounters signs of her late husband in various forms, such as a soft touch on her face or seeing a shadow. As her relationship with Ben intensifies, Maggie's husband appears to her by voice and finally in person. Maggie is constantly asking him for a sign that it is okay for her to move on. Through the therapy that she provides to her clients who are dealing with loss due to death, family issues and adoption, Maggie also works on resolving her own grief.
