It's Ready!!
After much suffering, I have my website the way that I want it to be (I think!) but I need your help. My goal is to have people go on there to see what I'm working on, to ask me questions, to make comments, to complain, or to say how much they like my writing. In my "News" section, there are announcements of upcoming giveaways and anything else that may be going on; it is in the "Post" section that I share my thoughts and what is happening with my writing. The "About Me" page is just that--I give you some background of who I am. And there's a "Contact" page. But there are also places for your comments and I am looking forward to any that you have.
I hope you will visit soon. And share the information with your friends.
Watch for two giveaways next week and see if you can win one or both of my books. Good luck!

New Giveaway
When I started to write "Envelopes of Hope," I wasn't quite sure where I was going with it. After many years of giving up hope that a daughter of mine would never get her life together, she sent me a letter that said, "Thank you for not giving up on me." And that was the inspiration of the story.
The story of Amanda is not an unusual one. I think we tend to forget that when a person has a substance abuse issue, those around them are affected as much as the person who is using the drugs. The family system is broken and each member becomes involved. In "Envelopes of Hope," Amanda's parents never give up hope that she will get her life together.
"Envelopes of Hope" is meant to give inspiration and hope to those who are struggling with issues that may be preventing them from moving on to a better life, whether it is because of drugs or any other obstacle that is in their way.
My new giveaway starts tomorrow. Enter to win one of ten copies of "Envelopes of Hope." Also available on Amazon in paperback and ebook formats.I'm looking forward to your comments.
Take care.

A Personal Connection
In case you missed my previous giveaways, "Envelopes of Hope" is my first novelette and a new giveaway is running now. Inspired by a family member, it is the story of a young girl and how she fell into the darkness of substance abuse. As she struggles through the years, her family tirelessly tries to help her escape the life she has chosen.
With the epidemic of drugs that we are facing today, the story of this family is meant to bring hope and inspiration to those involved in a crisis situation, whether it is drugs or something else that is threatening their family. I hope that I have achieved my goal.

Back to Vermont
I'm on my way to Vermont to spend a few days where my idea for "When Shadows Linger" was created. Having grown up in Wisconsin, my favorite seasons have always been fall and winter. So, you're wondering, how'd she end up in Florida 46 years ago? I won't bore you with the details--unless someone asks. 😉Anyway, I fell in love with it four years ago and it became the setting for my first book. The descriptions are so vivid that you will feel as though you are walking down Main Street with the characters. I promise that you will fall in love with Middlebury just as I did, And with Maggie Sinclair as she seeks happiness.

The Drug Epidemic
Have you ever known anyone who has become involved in the sordid world of drugs? We all know that we are in the midst of an epidemic of opiate abuse. But have you ever known anyone personally? I have and that's why I wrote "Envelopes of Hope." Amanda's story, and that of her family, is similar to what many people go through. While many parents and other family members become weary of the person with the problem, some don't give up hope that they will turn their life around. This novelette is meant to inspire people and give them hope that there is ----hope. It is geared to any problem, not just drugs. So, if you are experiencing or have experienced a family member or friend who has gone through any type of difficulty, you will be inspired by Amanda's story not to give up hope. And share it with those who may be struggling with a problem.
The giveaway for "Envelopes of Hope" ends in a few weeks. It is also available on Amazon in e-book and paperback formats.

Giveaway
Win one of 5 copies of my new book, "My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette."
This is the story of a man and his sons who left their home in Russia in the early 1900s to escape religious persecution. Accompany them on their journey to America.
"My Name is Rebecca: A Novelette" is historical fiction. But it is a story that is similar to those of us whose families came to America in search of a better life. It is a story about the importance of family and traditions.
I wrote this novelette as a tribute to families like mine. Included are some of the stories that I heard while growing up. Follow me on my website to learn what those stories were.

Excerpt from "When Shadows Linger"
"When Shadows Linger" is the story of a young widow, Maggie, and her emotional struggle for a new life. Jason is her late husband.
Lying in bed, Maggie drifted off into a light sleep, dreaming of her wedding day. She had finished dressing and was looking at herself in the mirror. Thinking that she had applied just the right amount of make up and that her hair looked perfect, Maggie turned away. As she did so, something stopped her and she turned back. Standing next to her was Jason and she could see him clearly.
“I came to you today because it’s a special day for you and I want you to be happy, Maggie. I remember how wonderful our wedding was. It was the beginning of a wonderful life for both of us. I don’t expect you to forget our love and don’t want you to. But put our love in a special little corner of your heart and I will always be with you. Be happy with Ben. He seems to be a wonderful person and loves you very much. He’ll take care of you and make you happy for the rest of your lives. I’ll be watching over you but won’t be coming anymore. I’ll always be in that special little corner of your heart where just you and I exist.”
When she wiped away the tears and looked into the mirror, Maggie saw only her own image. Jason was no longer there. As Maggie opened her eyes, she looked around the room. The clock next to the bed said that it was ten-thirty. What a dream, she thought to herself. It was so real that she swore she could still feel Jason’s presence. Sitting up, Maggie saw something on the pillow next to hers’. She picked it up and held it in the palm of her hand. It was a sprig of pink lily of the valley. “Oh Jason,” she whispered. “You really were here.”
