Simon Fairfax writes in three different genres: International financial thrillers, medieval fiction and Classic Westerns.
He is a former Chartered Surveyor, Editor of an online polo magazine (having played for a number of years) and practiced martial arts, fencing and shooting. He now restore old classic sports cars for fun.

As a lover of crime thrillers and espionage, Simon turned what is seen by others as a dull 9 – 5 job into something that is exciting, as close to real life as possible, with Rupert Brett, his unwilling hero.

The medieval series now has 6 books released in a 6 book series. The first A Knight and a Spy 1410 set in a tumultuous time at the English court. It tells the story of Jamie de Grispere squire in training and his two c

Yes, don't worry there will be a 1415 it is what it is all building to as I am sure you have gathered. Just finishing the 2nd in the western series and the start research (well carry on really already started bits and pieces) in earnest on 1415.
Off to France in September to visit, Harfleur and Agincourt itself. Which should be great fun and very revealing. I have already interviewed at length Dr Tobias Capwell former curator of the Wallace collection, reenactor and expert on the period of the 100 years war, which was fun and very enlightening.
Then doing a weekend with the HEMA Exiles in Cheltenham in October, which should be good fun as well as interesting.
Thank you for taking the time to write. If all goes to plan I should be publishing either late Nov or early 2024, but too early to put an exact date on it yet as too much to coordinate.
Best,

1412

It is always exciting to start a new book, especially after the months of research, doing the Character sheets, Timelines and checking that everything is in place. Then the writing can begin and A Knight and a Spy 1412 is coming to life!
Inevitably there are hitches and I have to rehearse all the fight scenes again with my son-wooden swords only!
This time the story will travel to the French court, Read more of this blog post »
