I'm sure everyone is thinking it's the creativity to express thoughts and ideas. I love that part of writing and changing the lives of others with words. But sometimes, I just grin and smile, because as a writer, I've made my own grammar rules. Who would have thought that the eleventh grader sitting in English class with a paper marked up would one day be able to say, "nah, that's not my writing style." So I consider that a hidden and awesome benefit. (less)

It's challenging, especially with a deadline, but oftentimes clearing my mind by doing something else helps with the writer's block. OR I just write and write and write not being critical of anything I write, but instead just letting thoughts come out as needed. I think if we look at writer's block as part of the process versus something to be avoided it helps greatly. (less)

Rachel Marie Martin, The Brave Art of Motherhood: Fight Fear, Gain Confidence, and Find Yourself Again

“Today in an auditorium full of parents my son scanned the room looking for me.

When he saw me his face lit up the room.

He wasn't looking for the perfect parent.

He was looking for his mom.

Don't ever forget the power of simply being their mom.”

“A Real Mom:
Emotional, yet the rock.
Tired, but keeps going.
Worried, but full of hope.
Impatient, yet patient.
Overwhelmed, but never quits.
Amazing, even though doubted.
Wonderful, even in the chaos.
Life changer, every single day.”
