I realize that's a very pageant answer, but I am still amazed that someone would 1) buy it 2) read it and 3) take the time to tell me what they thought. It's remarkable - because writing a book has been a very different experience for me. In the past, I've written plays, and the feedback is immediate - I get to hear exactly what the audience thinks as I lurk in the back of the theater. So, again, thanks to everyone who's been kind enough to chat with me about "I'm a Little Brain Dead." I appreciate it. (less)

There's always my "main" project - but there are smaller projects that come in and out. It's not always four, and it's not always more than one, but most of the time, I've got other options. So if something is not ready to be written, there's another avenue to explore, and I keep writing. I also have wildly diverse interest in my reading material, and I go through a lot of books, magazines, articles, and so forth in a week. If I'm really really stuck, like the way a baby will smear a booger across their cheek and it becomes a permanent part of their facial structure - I go live my life. I've found having a life is key (what a genius!) - if you aren't having a life, what on earth have you got to say?(less)

Just finished Sacred Folks and I can’t form coherent comments yet. Theodore C Van Alst Jr has an unmistakable voice and this is his best work yet in a body of great work. Highly recommend the entire trilogy.
