When I feel like I cannot create an authentic and meaningful narrative, I take a break for a couple of weeks and revisit some of the research I had done, and look through my draft notes and journal entries.

If it means that I have to gain more experience before I write any further, I usually seek meaning and lessons through ongoing circumstances. With The Tranquility Codex, I waited for weeks for one little bit of experience that was crucial for me to feel that the book is complete!(less)

When Stories Start Speaking for You

Reflecting on my creative shift of genres, from personal writing to fiction that spans history and speculative futures.

It’s been a while since I’ve published my writings. In fact, it’s been a little under 2900 Days since I wrote my first and only post on Medium. Writing has always been quite personal for me, and I often wrote to understand myself. Writing is a cathartic process, and while very

Shel Silverstein
“There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.”
Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends

Frances Hodgson Burnett
“If Mary Lennox had been a child who was ready to be amused she would perhaps have laughed at Martha's readiness to talk, but Mary only listened to her coldly and wondered at her freedom of manner.”
Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

“What is it you want, Mary? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Mary. ”
George Bailey
