Celia Lake spends her days as a librarian in the Boston (MA) metro area, and her nights and weekends at home happily writing, reading, and researching.

Born and raised in Massachusetts to British parents, she naturally embraced British spelling, classic mysteries, and the Oxford comma before she learned there were any other options.

It features a secondary character from the second book in the series, Laura Penhallow, and it's set on the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall.

And of course, I'm also working on editing and the behind the scenes work that goes into any book! (less)

“It’s the kind of thing an author who didn’t know what the real thing looks like would put in a novel.”
Celia Lake, Carry On

“the sort of hug that was half an octopus with ambitions.”
Celia Lake, Upon a Summer's Day

“She was neatly dressed, in her uniform, her hair and cap pinned in place by whatever arcane methods nurses used. If it had been an ordeal, it seemed to have been an unnaturally tidy and well-behaved one.”
Celia Lake, Carry On
