Anstice Brown has had her nose in a book and her head in the clouds for as long as she can remember. A geek/hippie hybrid with a love of all things retro, Anstice enjoys doodling, gaming and raving about books on her blog, Curious Daydreams. She adores speculative fiction and is currently working on a science fantasy novel.

Anstice has a BA in Literature and Philosophy and loves her job as a Deputy SENDCo. She lives on the East coast of England with her wonderful husband, daughter and their mischievous cats, Magical Mr. Mistoffelees and Loki.

Hard Work, Health and Hobbies #TheSundayPost

2025 is going pretty well for me so far. Like many, I started off the New Year by overhauling my lifestyle. I've got 3 bulging discs in my spine so I'm trying to lose some weight to see if that will help alleviate the pain. I've been eating much more healthily lately and am starting to feel a bit better.

Kiersten White
“Eyes like streams of melting snow, cold with the things she does not know. Heaven above and Hell beneath, liquid flames to hide her grief. Death, death, death with no release. Death, death, death with no release.”
Kiersten White, Paranormalcy

Alan Bennett
“The best moments in reading are when you come across something – a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things – which you had thought special and particular to you. Now here it is, set down by someone else, a person you have never met, someone even who is long dead. And it is as if a hand has come out and taken yours.”
Alan Bennett, The History Boys

Alan Bennett
“What she was finding also was how one book led to another, doors kept opening wherever she turned and the days weren't long enough for the reading she wanted to do.”
Alan Bennett, The Uncommon Reader

Alan Bennett
“A book is a device to ignite the imagination.”
Alan Bennett, The Uncommon Reader

“You don't put your life into your books, you find it there.”

C. (Comment, never msg). Hi Anstice! You are an authoress now? Congratulations! Wow and a Mom at the same time, with a cat too! Our cats have me busy enough.

I made "Gentle Spectrums" group changes. It is for pets, books, nature, gardening, music and anything important; including helpful social commentary. It always was but minus reading challenges in 2020. I hope we renew participation. Your friend, Carolyn.

Hi! So sorry I've been missing your comments. I think I need to adjust my notification settings. Happy belated new year to you too!

C. (Comment, never msg). Tizzy, I have been reporting what happened in Manchester since I heard the news last night. I know a new Mom doesn't have a lot of time to chat in our group but if you have a moment to say a few words, tell us how England is feeling, it would bring a firsthand perspective. Every parent must be hugging their children even if they aren't in the north. Caring from central Canada, Carolyn. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

C. (Comment, never msg). Hello Tizzy. If your wedding is recent: congratulations on your marriage! The portrait of you in a veil and flowers behind, is pretty. I see your birthday is recent. Happy birthday to you as well, summer girl! Carolyn. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/2015/0...
