About Gregg Norman

Gregg Norman is a prairie boy. Well, maybe not a boy, exactly. He is a university graduate with degrees in Liberal Arts and Law. He was a corporate lawyer for 25 years, but don’t tell anyone. More importantly, since his early retirement, he has been a television producer, a wildlife organization director, a stump rancher, a part-time cowboy, an auctioneer, a livestock feed salesman and, of course, he has been writing (something he’s always do

That may sound facetious but it's not meant to be. I believe that the biggest cause of writer's block (and many other ills that beset us) is stress. So relax, put your feet up, and don't sweat the small stuff (sorry about the cliches). Just let your mind take over. If that doesn't do the trick, re-read a favorite novel, one that you love and that inspires you. Also, get as much sleep as you can. Dreams can be very productive. (less)

"How to Write a Novel"

If i see one more Facebook ad for a 'how to' book on writing novels, I gonna hurl. I know there are some valuable books on the topic written by accomplished authors in years past and I've read some of them with good results. But here I'm talking about those "How to write a novel in 90 days and sell 10,000 copies in a month" kind of books, the ones that are invariably less than 100 pages long and w Read more of this blog post »

To be able to rhyme without contrivance is a gift, a talent not found in many poets. Strider Marcus Jones does it effortlessly. He is a hugely talented poet whose verse is smooth, melodic, sensuous. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection.
